The finish line is in sight

Well, it's almost here. Amy and I can see the finish line just over the horizon. Next week, at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, we'll be homeowners.

Ok, actually on Friday around noon is when it will be official, but you get the point. We had our final walkthrough this morning, and when we left the walls were full of blue tape (signifying touch-ups needed) thanks to Amy's eagle eyes. Most of it is minor, albeit needed, stuff like paint chips, etc.

Amy heads out of town on Wednesday for a four-day meeting, and I have one more walkthrough that day to ensure the touch-ups are done.

On Friday at 10 a.m. the close starts. Once I finish that, I'll head to the house and start taping off trim and doors and windows for painting. Saturday I've got a crew coming over to help me paint the bedroom, living room, hallway and kitchen. Master bathroom too if there's time.

Sunday Amy gets back in town (yes she'll be gone during painting, not sure how she got out of that one) and we'll start bringing boxes over from the VBs and storage, then we go to see Third Day Sunday night with our friends that Hartmans. Should be a blast.

Monday and Tuesday Amy and I are both off so we'll be hard at work. Ok Amy will be hard at work and I'll be busy setting up my new TV, our computer, cable, speakers, etc.

Those two days are littered with deliveries, from appliances to furniture, garage door openers to water softeners. It's going to be crazy trying to keep it all straight.

We're pretty fired up, one week left, it's so hard to believe it all started out looking like this:

And now it looks like this, all in about 5 months:

Next update I'll likely own a home and have some pics of it painted.
